all sessions are confidential and information will be shared only with your written consent. there are a few situations, however, in which james, as a licensed therapist, is ethically and legally bound to make an exception. the following apply:

• if i have information that indicates that a child, elderly or disabled person is being abused, i must report that to the appropriate state agency.

• if a client is an imminent risk to him/herself or makes threats of imminent violence against another person, i am required to take protective actions.

under special circumstances, james is willing accept a sliding fee scale, which in large part will depend on your overall finances.

these situations rarely occur, but if such a situation does occur, i will make every effort to discuss it with you before taking any action. i will only release information about our work to others with your written permission, or if i am required to do so by a court order.
